Chapter 1

Nov 25, 2025

“Fire! Fire! Fire!”

I pushed, propelled, and shoved my way out of the door my knees were pressed together, and the upper arm of my black dress was torn and left scratched.

“Help!”

I cried out. I was locked up in a small room almost like a walked-in closet close to the stable. Hays was packed at the side of the room and burning in flames and wood in the roof had got caught with it and was starting to fall.

I was locked in here to be saved from the intruders that had gotten into the pack. Mother left after the door was bolted from the outside. She begged me not to make a sound that it was gonna be over soon and she would come back to get me out.

She lied. She never came back.

Unaware that the flames would break into the room I had squeezed myself in.

I got to the door and my hands hit the door fervently, thick dark smoke was looming around me. I banged the door harder with my fist. Coughing and shouting.

“Anybody!”

“Mom! Dad!” I called out and coughed, my eyes were clouded with tears, and my throat was burning. The heat was getting too much and my skin was starting to feel the burn.

“Retreat! Fire! Fire!” Someone yelled outside the door, I pulled back on my feet, leaned on the wall, struggled back to the door handle, and held it. It burned my hand when I touched it, I cried and fell back to my knees.

“Under attack! Protect the Alpha!” That was the voice of the beta, I was certain of it. Cranon Felipe, the strongest of the wolves and leader of the pack warriors.

He was closer to my father, his best friend's father called him.

He was close.

“I’m here!” I coughed, if I could shout a little bit more maybe, I may get heard.

“...protect him with your life!” He screamed.

“Somebody! I’m right here!” It broke free, the tear spilled off my face running down my cheeks aimlessly. My eyes were fixed on the keyhole, I couldn’t breathe and my sight was blurry, I wouldn’t last long in here.

“Protect the princess!” My father yelled, the alpha of the White wolf Pack. He was the sweetest man I’ve ever known.

And I know he loved me dearly.

“D-dad...” my breath was shaky. I wiped my eyes and stared through, he was coming to the room as I was locked, I couldn’t open it because it was locked from the outside.

He was coming to get me out, I smiled out of tears with a glint of hope in my eyes.

He was gonna protect me.

I wiped my eyes to make my views a bit clearer and I saw a tall man behind him and hurled a spear, with contains a sliver of dust into his back, it hits him and made him jolt forward and the spear came out through his chest.

His chestnut eyes were on me. A taint smile appeared on his thin lips before his eyes closed up. My eyes watered, I didn’t know when the tears fell off.

“My...Princess...” his voice cocked. And he fell face down.

A gasp escaped my mouth, and I took in more of the smoke, I ran from the door but there was nowhere to hide, the flames had come through, the door was burning and I was trapped.

“I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die...” I cried because I couldn’t breathe anymore. And a wood from the ceiling fell on me. I fell with my stomach on the ground and burning wood on my shoulders.

“Argh!”

I was only thirteen.

When I lost everything.

“Wake up!” The whiplash on my bareback, made my eyes snap open immediately, the cloth on my body was more or less a rag. It could barely cover up anything.

I stared over at my left shoulder and saw a scar, fire burns. I breathed out, it was the same dream again. My eyes glanced around briefly and they fell on him, the tall man in the rat hole of a room I stayed at night and a wooden door that could easily be broken in.

Damn!

I didn’t hear the alarm sound.

I overslept.

I rose from the hard mattress on the cold floor and began to pant in fright anticipating what was gonna happen to me next.

“Sweet dreams?” He mocked and whipped me again, my face tightened, and my

teeth went over to my lower lip giving it a hard bite but I didn’t let a tear spill.

He pulled me up with a hand over my neck. And pinned me to the wall. His hands tightened around my neck, and all I could see was his menacing glare. And punched me in my stomach.

“You had enough time to sleep didn’t you?” He roared.

“I’m sorry,” I pled, I had slept in late. I knew it wasn’t an excuse for having to wake up late. My words seem to annoy him.

“I told you to address me as Alpha!”

He kicked my stomach severely, I had a hand over my head and face, that was the only thing I could shield.

“Alphabet.” I snickered in a tone only I could hear.

He punched me on my side ribs. I groaned, and he let go of my neck and grabbed my hair. I looked up at him with the side of my eye.

“Don’t you ever stare at me that way again!” He slapped me hard on the face and my lips twitched. His hits sting and I was tempted to have my hands over it.

“Shouldn’t you be working! You should be serving the warriors, you little cunt!” He slapped me again and my red strawberry hair sprawled over my face.

“You should be grateful you’re gonna leave tonight.” He scorned.

I was gonna leave tonight, where would he take me?

He let go of me and I dropped beside his legs.

“Where would you take me?” My voice wasn’t audible, I was scared to talk back, and I was scared to stare a man in the eye a man like him, the only stare I could give him was a deadly glare.

Cranon Felipe.

The beta of my pack. He had overthrown my father and taken his spot as the Alpha of my pack. I thought he was gonna protect him that night, I didn’t know he was the same man that had lay low behind him with the spear and thrust them into his heart.

And here, I was treated as a slave, bullied, humiliated, and scorned by Cranon’s men and Cranon himself. And it seem I was as well forgotten as the daughter of Edward Park, the Alpha of the white wolf Pack.

Everyone loyal to my father was killed, and my mother, I never got to find her. If she was alive or dead.

I didn’t know.

When I woke up, I was on a mattress and this man was staring at me with a mysterious grin. Then I knew my life was about to take a new turn.

It was never the pack I grew up in, it was Cranon Pack. And I was a low commoner, the filthy rag on the pack. Cranon hated me if the word hate was an understatement.

I was still waiting and hoping for one thing.

My prince, the prince that would love me, and cherish me again.

Today was such a remarkable day for me, wasn’t it? It was the day a girl like me was born.

Messy red strawberry hairs, weird violet eyes, plump red lips and I-don’t- know- how to smile-face.

The hope of finding my mate. Keep me alive, that was all.

I was perhaps as a mother would say, Cinderella waiting for her Prince Charming.

“What did you say?” He squats and his fingers went to my chin and he lifts them. Staring at my eyes, the unique thing left in me.

“Where would you take me?” I repeated with a groan, my ribs were burning in pain. Cranon sees every reason to hurt me, my sight disgusts him, and my breathing irked him.

“Don’t you dare talk back at me!” He kicked me harder on my ribs, I curled into a ball at the tight corners and then he pulled his pants off his waist.

“You know your punishment when you do!” He growled at me. And pulled by the hair, he dragged me closer to him with my knees on the ground.

“I’ve only asked a question.” My shaky voice came out, in a low tone.

My eyes welled up as my face went closer to his torso. His grip tightened on my hair, forcing me to open my mouth.

“I’m giving you as a gift, puppy.” He grinned showing off his missing front tooth. Using his nickname on me.

“Bastard...” Lana my wolf growls at him. I could hear her faintly, and sometimes I won’t hear from her for months.

I thought as well, she had abandoned me too.

I suddenly wished I was stronger to fight back, but I haven’t been able to shift to my wolf yet, even when I clocked sixteen. I could only hear her voice then, but it didn’t make me any different from an omega. And more or less a slave.

I looked up at him this time, and I held his gaze with a withering glare longer than I’d ever done.

He slapped my face to take my eyes off him.

“Don’t stare at me like that you witch!” He slapped me again with his right hand, I didn’t budge my eyes staring daggers at him.

He stood up with a little frightened look at my stare.

“Puppy, you ain’t gonna be sold.” He said if that was gonna soothe me. “...You’ll be a gift to the new crown king. As a shower of my alliance.”

He stroke my hair lightly and I cussed inwardly.

“Now you do as I say, puppy.” He growled lowly.
